"Hawaiian Maiden" is a lovely cultural twist-n-turn fashion doll that was manufactured by Lanakila Crafts, Honolulu, Hawaii, circa the 1980s-on, and perhaps earlier.  She is a nearly 12" hollow plastic/vinyl inexpensively made doll that is dressed in authentic Hawaiian costuming consisting of a tropical patterned two-piece swimsuit, a grass, skirt, grass bracelet, and a grass headband.  Similar to a Barbie clone, she features painted makeup, rooted hair, and a fashion doll body.  Her eye painting is a bit haphazard though.  She appears UN-played with as I may have been the first one to remove her from her box.  Her box sustains wear, tear, and creasing from age and storage.  Its lower right front corner is more visibly torn, and its plastic window is dinged and scuffed.  Over the years, Lanakila Crafts has created dolls and other items to benefit disabled Hawaiians.  "Hawaiian Maiden" may add further interest to a Benefit Doll or Barbie Clone Doll collection.
