The OMAX Spaceman Audacieuse is a creation of the visionary watchmaker Andre Le Marquand, who designed this watch to break away from conventional norms. Debuting in 1972, the Spaceman Audacieuse drew inspiration from the sleek contours of astronaut helmets, reflecting the space-age fascination of the era. Its large oval case, reminiscent of a spacefaring vessel, created a significant stir in the watchmaking world. 

Catena introduced this revolutionary design at the Basel Fair of 1972. The Spaceman’s case appeared to be docked on the wearer’s wrist, held by a triple-forked Corfam strap by DuPont.
