François-Nicolas-Vincent Campenon, born Mars 29, 1772 in Saint-François in Guadeloupe and died November 24, 1843 in Villecresnes, is a French poet and translator.
Coming from Guadeloupe to France at the age of four, he studied at the college of Sens. He corresponded with Bernardin de Saint-Pierre, of whom he was fervent, and composed a poem, Paul at the tomb of Virginie, which begins as follows:

Rest in peace, my Virginia!
