A State of Connecticut World War I “For Service” medal, dated 1917–1918, with its original-style ribbon.
The medal features a classic WWI patriotic design—Lady Liberty with a palm branch beside an American eagle with “WORLD WAR 1917–1918” (as shown). A great piece for collectors of state-issued WWI medals and Connecticut militaria.
Historical note: Connecticut’s WWI state service medal was authorized after the war (often cited as authorized June 6, 1929), and awarded to eligible Connecticut citizens who served during WWI.
Medal shows normal age toning/patina.
Ribbon shows noticeable fraying/tearing near the bottom fold (please see close-up photos).
