Frankly, I’m not certain what this is supposed to be, and I can’t find anything that matches it. I would say it’s an ashtray, but probably not because there are no indentations on the dish for cigarettes, and the golf club hanging over the ashtray probably wouldn’t be a good idea. I’m going to say it’s simply a decorative dish for coins, keys or whatever else.
Measures approximately 9 1/2” tall. The base measures approximately 8” in diameter with a couple of areas that approach 9”. The entire piece weighs just under 5 pounds. The glass insert measures approximately 4 1/4 inches in diameter.
I see no brand or maker’s mark anywhere. There are no markings of any kind that identify this. A portion of the bottom plate can be pulled back a little bit to show the hardware attaching the golfer and caddie to the base. This is shown in the photos.
This displays beautifully. It’s in very good condition and appears to have been well cared for. Really nice patina. See the photos and feel free to ask questions.
