John (David Arquette) wakes up on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles and finds that his lucky sneakers have been stolen, as well as all the money he had saved up to spend a night in a top hotel. Along with naïve streetboy Donner (Lucas Haas), John sets out to raise the money in a single day.
