Appearance

  1. This set comes in a premium paulownia wood box, with attention paid to not only the karuta cards but also the box itself.
  2. The front of the cards is made from Echizen Torinoko washi paper, and each print is meticulously executed. The backing paper is meticulously handcrafted with genuine gold and silver foil, and the foil is used rather than printed, giving the cards a luxurious appearance and feel. The outer box has minor scratches and tears, as well as sun stains due to aging, but as the main body is made of natural paulownia wood, the karuta cards are in excellent condition with no stains or dirt.
