Also known as Japanese green tea or mocha, matcha tea is now enjoyed worldwide. It consists of powdered green tea leaves with a variety of properties and a unique flavor.

Matcha originated in imperial China during the Sui Dynasty. This was the use of a highly prized and finely crafted leaf consumed in the traditional tea ceremony.
The leaves were steamed and pressed into special "bricks" for storage and trade. Now they are dried and then ground into a very fine powder.
The tradition also became part of the Buddhist Chan ritual which included etiquette in the use of these leaves in the tea ceremony.
Today, matcha is also highly appreciated in Europe for its simplicity and beneficial properties, such as stress reduction, antioxidant properties, and cholesterol-lowering properties.

Matcha powder is also perfect for sweet recipes, as an ingredient in cake batters, muffins, and even tiramisu and cheesecake.

Also perfect as a garnish in your bowls, yogurts and smoothies by adding dried or fresh fruit and various toppings to taste.

Matcha powder is also suitable for hot and cold drinks; the most popular is Matcha Latte, made with powder and hot or cold milk, but also perfect with water or ice.

The matcha we produce is gluten-free and contains no added sugars, as the only ingredient is the powdered matcha tea leaves.
You can also prepare classic matcha tea using a simple electric whisk or milk frother. If you don't have these tools, you can shake the tea in a shaker or sealed jar to eliminate lumps.
Since it also has stimulating properties, it's recommended to consume matcha in the morning or early afternoon, always taking care not to overdo the dose. We recommend 1 or 2 teaspoons (about 1 g) per cup of water or milk.
