Ford Ranger trucks have LOUD power steering. The factory design is prone to fluid cavitation and as a result generate heat and noise.

You've probably tried finding a quiet remanufactured pump. You've probably spent hours trying to bleed the noise out. You've even tried searching the internet for a solution by now. Good news -- Proquipped has the solution to your underpowered, noisy factory pump.

The Saginaw TC Adapter Kit provides the bracketry and hardware to install a Saginaw TC power steering pump (not included) to your 4.0 Ranger/Explorer (90-00). A 3.0 version is available on the Proquipped website.

The pressure output and dimensions of the Saginaw TC pump (a design commonly found in GM V8s, Jeeps, etc) works. It results in quiet and light steering when adapted to the Ranger. And as a bonus, it uses the factory Ranger power steering hoses and serpentine belt. The pump and pulley in our photos is from a 2002-2006 Jeep Liberty V6, which is a direct bolt-on using this kit (see our FAQ section for more information on pump fitment).

Kit includes adapter bracket, spacer bracket, hardware, pressure port O-ring, and printed instructions ONLY. This requires reuse of your factory power steering bracket, flow control valve from your old pump, and a Saginaw TC pump (02-06 V6 Jeep Liberty pump is used for demonstration, other Saginaw TC pumps may be utilized with additional modification). All parts are designed and manufactured in the United States.
