The World Stamp Exhibition for 2025 very nearly did not occur in Korea, as the national postal operator Korea Post had financial issues, but in the end managed to find the budget !

Crypto stamps are not new - the very first one was issued in Gibraltar in 2018, but was limited and it is only in the past few years there have been a few more countries participating.

In fact one of these, Austria issued its first Crypto stamp in 2019 - This was the first blockchain enabled postage stamp.  They combined physical and digital elements.  Each crypto stamp has a digital twin, known as a NFT (non fungible token) which is stored on the ethereum blockchain.  The actual stamp can be used like any postage stamp while the digital counterpart can collected, traded or sold.

They were introduced to bring innovative digital trends to traditional services, hopefully attracting new collectors.

Belgium last year and this year The Netherlands amongst a few others have issued these.  This is the first time this kind of stamp has appeared at a World Stamp Show, and this year Cantor have not issued any labels.

Korea Post decide to use five characters as symbols for the exhibition , to encourage younger visitors.  Each character has different characteristics and as the show was for five days, one character / crypto stamp was issued each day.

Uju  -  travels on a stamp carpet , spreading stamps to people and exchanging letters with friends worldwide

Haneul  - A 'sky' stamp collector guided by the power of the sun, possessing a large collection of valuable stamps

Mul - A 'water' protector of the Earth environment , dreams of building a museum on the sea with stamps from around the world

Bul -  A 'fire' who studies the history recorded on stamps, possesses a magical magnifying glass that can save stamp images and

Ttang - A 'earth' who enjoys planting trees on Earth , collects stamps depicting unique and various Trees from around the World.

These Crypto stamps are available either as a set of FIVE or can be purchased individually.  First come, First served for the individual characters as I would prefer to sell as a set, so only have one, perhaps two of each individual character.

Once purchased, you can register these on the blockchain by scanning the QR code on the rear.  

Again like the Cantor labels, maybe something different to enhance your collection.
