🛠️ Step-by-Step Guide for MC4 Connector Assembly
1. Identify Components
Male Connector: Has a long pin (the electrical terminal).
Female Connector: Has a short pin (the electrical terminal).
2. Prepare the Cable (Step 2)
Use a wire cutter or stripper to remove the insulation from the end of your cable.
Caution: Be careful not to cut or damage the individual wire strands inside the cable core.
3. Crimp the Pin (Step 3)
Place the correct pin (male or female) into the crimping tool.
Insert the bare, cut end of the cable fully into the pin.
Crimp the pin firmly onto the wire using the tool (as shown in your first single image). The goal is a secure, permanent mechanical and electrical connection.
4. Assemble the Male Connector (Step 4)
Insert the cable with the long pin into the male connector body and its protective cap/nut.
5. Assemble the Female Connector (Step 5)
Insert the cable with the short pin into the female connector body and its protective cap/nut.
6. Tighten the Cable Gland (Step 6)
Use the special spanner (the blue tool in the image) to tighten the connector cap/nut onto the main body.
This step is crucial for creating a waterproof seal and ensuring the cable is securely held.
7. Final Connection (Steps 7 & 8)
Connect the assembled male and female connectors by pushing them together until they click and lock.
The connection is now complete.
