1930's Märklin Stuttgart Station both portions Model 2039G and Station Beer Stein

Per the Brighton Toy & Model Museum -

The Märklin model of Stuttgart Station was surprisingly accurate, resulting in a monster of a model that was so large, expensive, and frankly so intimidating that Märklin broke the model into two pieces, so that one could buy the station in installments (or settle for a large representative chunk of freestanding station).

The left-hand part of the station complex was sold as number 2038, the larger right-hand part with the tower was number 2039, and if one wanted to buy both together, the full thing was 2039 G (This model).

Condition-

Very clean, one family ownership since the 1930's. Has most of the original wiring, missing only the roof and flag for the clock tower.  Please see pictures to ensure condition is acceptable.

Family Story - (see pictures of  Dad playing with his train set)

My family moved to the US between the wars. My father was born in the states though during the depression he was sent to Stuttgart to live with his Uncle Trautmann until the family could afford to support him. After a few years he returned to the US.

His uncle was very fond of him and when he heard that my father was given a train set for Christmas, he shipped the Märklin model of Stuttgart Station to the states for his set up!.

When I was old enough in the 1960's to get a train set, the station became part of my Lionel set up. After I grew up I unboxed it and I have had it displayed in my house for the last 3 decades.

Why buy from me? See my seller reviews!

I will also insure this package for the amount paid.

Also throwing in a beer mug that depicts the train station.
