The Manchester Courier, 28 May 1909: ‘The attention of followers of Lancashire cricket is called to a book of records published by Mr. T. Swindells, who has for many years taken a deep interest in compiling statistics with reference to the performances of the County Palatine. In the preface the author points out that “the present volume does not profess to be a history of Lancashire County Cricket, but simply a record of the performances achieved during the seasons that have elapsed since the commencement of the Club.” But there are probably very few figure facts concerning the county that are not included in the book. The work, which is dedicated to Mr. A. N. Hornby, the Lancashire president, is issued at a shilling.’
This uncommon publication [Padwick 2274] is reprinted in a hardback limited edition with a new two-page introduction by Gerry Wolstenholme
