PRADEL Company, France, Camper/Utility Knife, Vin, Survivor Quality:   From previous reading and discussion with collectors, I understand that Pradel knives are made in the arcane cottage-industry that still exists in the city of Thiers, known as the knife district of France. Parts for blades, springs, liners and handle-scales are made in private homes and workshops, then sent to a central factory for assembly. This sub-divided process is practiced to a greater or lesser degree in all European cities known for their cutlery-business community.
This knife is very vintage in appearance. It carries use and wear on the cutting blades; the other blades have clearly been used a few times, too. The handles both have holes made by common intestinal parasites carried by tortoises called nematodes (I don't know a frog from a nematode. ((Haha! A pun!)) Tortoises carry them in their intestines and soon the nematodes migrate into the shell, eventually eating the knife's handles. This is another good reason for using plastic handles! Front handle has a chunk missing and a birds-eye fixture is at the "head" end while a lanyard bail is pinned at the "foot" end. Blades and springs are intact providing support and lock with half-stops on all the blades.
Relax the 'todes are long dead; their damage has ended as shown in the pictures above. The worm-holes show a status effect: they prove the handles are real.
