Product Description

Our premium, free-draining repotting soil is formulated for all indoor palm varieties, including Kentia, Areca and Chinese Fan palms.

Unlock the full potential of your palms, with Allgood Farm's carefully crafted soil mix. Like all of our soils, this is a living substrate designed for perfect balance: moisture, air, nutrition, and structural support. From lush foliage to strong roots, every component works together to help your plants to thrive.

Our palm mix has plenty of LECA pebbles and chunky British Pine bark - ensuring plenty of oxygen can reach the roots of your palms. This helps to fight root rot - one of the most common issue with indoor palm care.

We boost the soil with nourishing compost and worm castings, as well as volcanic rock dust for an injection of long-term slow release minerals - keeping your potted palms healthy and happy.

We work hard to ensure our soil recipes get the best from your plants, and we can't wait for you to try this one!

What makes Allgood Farm soils different?

Allgood Farm soils are designed to reproduce the natural environment, with varied textures, aeration and moisture balance tailored to your plants. That means a lot more goes into them than just compost!

Our soils contain additions like pine bark (from sustainable British forestry), sphagnum moss (hand harvested in Wales), expanded clay (we use various grades and shapes tailored to each mix), and many others. Our soils are also boosted with bioactive worm castings, a rich compost full of nutrients, which also keeps your soil's microbiome healthy - because sterile soil is dead soil!

We include a free sample of our nutrient-boosting mix of insect-meal and frass with all orders of 3 litres or more. Studies have shown frass improves plants' natural defenses, for healthier, stronger growth and less susceptibility to disease and infestation. We've seen first-hand the amazing results of using insect-meal & frass with our own plants and we can't wait for you to try it!

How much soil do I need?

The image above shows the size of typical plant pots that will hold 1 to 10 litres of soil.

A 1 litre bag of soil will fill a single typical plant pot with a diameter and height of 11.5cm (4.5 inches).

We try to offer a range of soil volumes to suit all our customers, but we do occasionally hear that our 1 litre bags are smaller than expected, so we want to ensure you know what you are buying before ordering from us.

Please measure your pots and check how much you need before purchasing, a table of volumes of common pot sizes is provided above.

one litre does not equal one kilogram

Volumes & Weights

Please note that unless otherwise specified in the listing, items are sold by volume, not weight.

Soil mixes and ingredients will vary in weight depending on the moisture level when packaged.

For example 1 litre of a particular soil mix could weigh between 400-700g - but will always fill a 1 litre container.

All volumes are correct at time of packing, but some items may settle during transit.

Please note that 500ml and 1 Litre orders are sent in letterbox-friendly packaging, all other amounts will not fit through a standard letterbox.

About Allgood Farm

Allgood Farm is a small-batch producer of eco-friendly feeds and climate-conscious home and garden supplies.

We're three siblings based in Yorkshire, where we farm insects on our family smallholding. Our insects make a nutritious and sustainable protein source for pets and poultry, and we use their waste products to produce nutrient-rich plant food.

Like hobbits, we just love things that grow, and we want to share the success we've had using insect-powered products to keep our plants happy and healthy.

We mix and package all of our products ourselves in small batches. All of our products are sold in fully recyclable packaging, and we use carbon-neutral processes wherever possible.
