D’ARTAGNAN BOOKS

This is a second edition in average condition.  It was published by Oxford University Press in 1950.

This book has been signed by the actor, John Humphry, and he has annotated all the entries for the part of Edward Tappercoom.  He has even drawn a picture on the inside of the DJ of his character's face (in pen).

'A romantic comedy in three acts, in verse, it is set in the Middle Ages ('1400, either more or less exactly').  It reflects the world's 'exhaustion and despair' following World War II, with a war-weary soldier who wants to die, and an accused witch who wants to live.  In form, it resembles Shakespeare's pastoral comedies.'

This is a 2nd Edition / 3rd Printing (States - 'Second Edition Third Impression July 1950').
