An outstanding Victorian-era Jacobean revival chest-on-stand, beautifully crafted from solid oak and richly hand-carved throughout. This impressive piece dates to around 1870 and showcases the grandeur and craftsmanship of the late 19th century’s fascination with 17th-century design. Featuring deep relief carvings of vine leaves, grapes, and scrolling foliage across the drawer fronts. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with each drawer showcasing intricate detailing and beautiful patination that speaks to the piece’s age and history.

The upper section is fitted with twin cupboard doors, flanked by bold, turned and carved columns with classical motifs. The lower section consists of five drawers of varying sizes, all retaining period-style ornate brass handles and escutcheons. The front edges are adorned with a beaded border, adding further refinement to the design.

This piece stands on shaped bracket feet and has an impressive presence, making it a fine example of period English oak furniture. Perfect for a country house interior or a collector of early furniture, it combines practical storage with remarkable visual appeal.

Terms of Sale:

You have 7 days to return this item, from the time of purchase. You will receive a refund for the price of the items(s) minus any delivery charges that occurred whilst delivering the item(s), the item(s) will need to be collected and checked over at our returns depot before any refund is given. Customers need to beware that they will also incur a collection charge which will be deducted from any amounts refunded. Returns have to be unused and fit for resale and in the packaging they originally arrived in.

All goods must be inspected on arrival and then signed for.

Any damaged items must be signed for as damaged and taken back with the courier to avoid any unnecessary collection charges. If you do fail to send the item(s) back with the courier you will incur a collection charge.
