Although the Sand 5 have been designed to complement the Sand 5 H2O outfit, these lightweight and breathable gloves have also become the go-to gloves for a large audience of adventure riders across the globe.
As with every evolution of a staple product in our collection, there are certain aspects that we like to zoom in on and improve yet leave other characteristics like functionality and purpose untouched. With the Sand 5 gloves, that was fit and comfort. As one of the top-selling gloves in our collection, we already knew we had a winning recipe. We just wanted to make it even better.
A short cuff along with a combination of leather and 3D air mesh make up the majority of the Sand 5 gloves' composition. We then match it with top-tier features like a new TPR injected knuckle protector that allows for even more dexterity and flexibility, TPU thumb and palm protection, a TPR little finger protector, wrist bone protection, a tri-fleece lining (for added comfort), Goat stay soft leather and a grip panel on the inside of the hand, and much more. The Sand name has a legacy to uphold, and this generation does their predecessors proud.

Ok but wouldn’t rave about them

I wanted a pair of gloves to ride on the ABR trails and these had very good reviews. My key criteria was something with decent protection which kept my hands cool. The protection looks fine - but haven’t tested those capabilities. But I was expecting them to be much cooler than get were. The mesh on the back didn’t feel like it was letting in a lot of air. The other reason for giving it 3 stars was that in one of the gloves the seem had puckered in the stitching and was rubbing against my palm. I ended up taking a pair of scissors and trimming it down so it was less noticeable. I know gloves are one of the hardest things to manufacture but was expecting these to be more polished. As for sizing I’d suggest going at least one size up. I don’t have particular big hands and yet the XL was about right, had I bought them in the shop I might have tried the XXL for comparison.
