The Sansui AU-α907, released in Japan in 1986 during the “Golden Era” of high-fidelity Japanese audio equipment, is a gorgeous vintage integrated amplifier of exceptional quality. The AU-α907 offers a rated output power of 180W+180W at 8 Ohms, with a total harmonic distortion (THD) of < 0.003%. Clocking in at 28 kg (62 lb), this thing is built like a tank, but to a high degree of precision. The amp circuitry is of the highest quality, with Sansui’s highly advanced α-X balanced circuitry, where amplification of the positive and negative components of the signal are carried out by independent amplifiers, which further reduces noise and distortion. This amp has a twin-mono design, so mutual interference between both channels is eliminated, enhancing SNR. The AU-α907 also features an advanced volume system, whereby amplification and transmission of signals with varying impedance are carried out without affecting the sound quality.
