Description
The Technics SL-1200, a Japanese-made direct drive turntable, is one of the most widely used hi-fi turntables in the world and is renowned for its stability and robustness. In addition to being used by DJs for decades, this turntable has also found its way into the homes of audiophiles and listeners around the world. Launched in 2017, the SL-1200GR features a two-layer chassis construction with a solidly integrated bulk molding compound (BMC) and aluminum die-cast chassis to ensure high rigidity. In addition to rigidity and vibration resistance, the surface of the aluminum die-cast chassis is coated with a matte finish for a subdued texture.The insulator, which supports the chassis and reduces external vibrations, is made of a special silicone rubber that combines high damping characteristics with long-term reliability. The insulator was completed with special tuning to match the weight of the main unit.To eliminate unwanted resonance, the platter has a two-layer structure with die-cast aluminum and deadening rubber laminated on the entire back surface, and the inertial mass has been increased to approximately 2.5 kg (including the rubber sheet), 0.8 kg more than the SL-1200MK6. Furthermore, in pursuit of low vibration, the shape of the aluminum die-cast section was optimized through repeated detailed simulations, and reinforcing ribs were added to increase rigidity. As a result, the vibration damping characteristics are more than twice that of conventional products.
This turntable is in Excellent condition, with signs of aging, including some scratches and scuffs (please see pictures). The dust cover has some scratches (Please see the picture and refer to the dust cover policy below). Silver body is in beautiful condition. (please see pictures). The turntable has been tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation.
