This is one of Zidoo X9S hardware clones, which Zidoo refuses to remotely activate for essential internet network operations, such as streaming, pulling databases, posters, etc.

As is, it works just fine with local content on USB drives, including 2D and 3D blu-ray ISOs.

Any additional Android apps also need to be sideloaded from a local drive.

New - open box condition with all factory accessories, was opened just to cross flash original Ourglass firmware to Zidoo X9S 2.1.28 (most stable).

DO NOT connect the unit to Internet, otherwise the non-activating message will pop-up and the unit will get blocked from operating. Subsequent firmware update or hard reset removes the message, until next active internet connection.

The possible activation workaround is reported by other users and may or may not work for you. Please perform workaround at your own risk or do not attempt without sufficient knowledge.

In order to prevent non-activating message from Zidoo servers you'd need to block outbound/inbound connections to/from Zidoo activation servers on your Internet gateway/router or spoof the unit's ethernet MAC ID to be within standard X9S IDs range, if known (not tested).  Addresses of the Zidoo servers can be derived from the connections log on your router. You may want to disconnect the router from internet before you connect the unit first time and examine the log.
