    The following problems may require replacement of the shock absorber

    • Excessive Bouncing: The vehicle bounces excessively and continues to rock after going over a bump or uneven road.
    • ​Nose-diving when Braking: The front end of the car dips down severely during braking.
    • Significant Body Roll in Corners: The car leans heavily and feels unstable when going around corners.
    • Uneven Tire Wear: The tires show signs of uneven or cupped wear patterns.
    • Fluid Leakage: Visible oil leaks are present on the shock absorber's housing.
    • High Mileage or Age: Generally, consider an inspection after 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers or 5+ years of use.

     

    When installing shock absorbers, pay attention to the following aspects

    • Safety First: Always securely support the vehicle with jack stands. Never rely solely on a jack.
    • Replace in Pairs: It is highly recommended to replace shock absorbers in pairs (both front or both rear) to maintain vehicle balance.
    • Follow Torque Specs: Tighten all bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque. Over- or under-tightening is dangerous.
    • Inspect Related Parts: When installing new shocks, also inspect and replace any worn adjacent components like springs, bump stops, etc.
    • Do Not Pre-load: For assembled struts, do not fully tighten the top center nut until the vehicle is lowered and resting on its wheels.
    • Controlling Compression Set: During installation, the static compression set of the shock absorber must be kept within the maximum allowable range to ensure proper function and longevity.
    • Avoiding Corrosive Substances: During installation, special care must be taken to prevent contact with corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, and organic solvents to prevent adverse effects on performance and service life.
    • Final Alignment: Always perform a wheel alignment after installation to ensure proper tire contact and straight-line driving.
