This folder is a rare first edition folder for liberty head nickels 1883-1913 made during 1941-1942 time period for less than a year
when world war 2 rationing of paper and related materials made it necessary for Whitman to cease production of the first edition and switch to a second edition using paper and cardboard of a somewhat lesser quality. Gone was the distinctive leatherette quality of
the first edition which had a leatherette quality to the blue paper that made up the outside of the folder.
