When we made these, we look for the most colorful shell material to work with. It is not easy to find anymore. Each hand carving is different. This one is rich in blue silver tones. This is a bigger size than we normally find.

The meaning of Koru: The koru (Māori for '"loop or coil"') is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace.
