This
auction is for one input pre-amplifier board for the HP 5087A distribution amplifier. This is similar to the HP 5087-60004 10MHz input pre-amplifier board. Gain is variable up to 1 to 1, similar to the original board. The board edge connector plating is ENIG.
The meter reading will be lower with this board vs the original HP input board. The HP board uses a germanium diode (0.2V to 0.3V forward drop) and this board uses a Schottky diode.
The board must be installed with the orientation such that the components are on the same side of the board as with the original board. Also note the pot will not be in the same location as on the original board. If
your unit has the shield that covers all of the boards, you will have
to drill a hole to allow adjustment of the level potentiometer.
This board is configured to get input from A when 100nF 50V capacitor C1 is installed. Inputs from B or C are also selectable using capacitors C2 or C3. Capacitors C1, C2, or C3 may be replaced with a shorting jumper or zero ohm resistor if desired.There is no metal cover for these boards, but they fit the original HP covers.
