This is a pre-owned item with signs of wear. It is made from either cast iron or some other type of substantial metal and has a brass-like finish. This is wearing off in areas and has a lovely patina. There is a marking that says 1928; this is a copyright and not the date of manufacture. The original artist is Auguste Rodin, but this is a reproduction.

This would be a wonderful addition to any library, or a perfect gift for the book lover on your list this holiday season.

I also think it would be great on a shelf in the bathroom where a lot of great ‘thinkers’ do their best work!
