EIFELKUNST, RÜCKSEITEN: Ilse Schneider hat drei Arten von Logos beziehungsweise Stempeln auf den Rückseiten ihrer Märchen-Holzbilder verwendet. Anfang der 1930er-Jahre waren es drei kaum lesbare, stilisierte Buchstaben: Zwei schräg eingeritzte Buchstaben „E“ und „K“ (für Eifelkunst), dazwischen ein „S“ für Schneider, das fast wie ein „Z“ aussah. Später folgte ein gut lesbares, eingeprägtes „Eifelkunst“ – und schließlich ein einfacher Farbstempel, der nicht mehr ins Holz eingeprägt wurde.

🇬🇧 EIFELKUNST, BACKS: Ilse Schneider used three types of logos or stamps on the backs of her German Wall Figures. In the early 1930s, she carved three barely legible letters into the backs: an “E” and a “K” for Eifelkunst, with an “S” for Schneider in between, which almost looked like a “Z”. Later, there was a clearly legible “Eifelkunst” impressed into the wood, and finally a simple ink stamp that was no longer carved in. (9/25)
