This original poster from 1981 comes directly from the estate of Andy Warhol. The poster was used as a holiday promotion at the department store Weinstock’s where Warhol’s Myth series of prints were exhibited for customers to enjoy while Christmas shopping. The Myth series is based on mythical icons of American pop culture, including Santa Claus. Forty years later, this poster ironically captures the mythical icon, Andy Warhol. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare and out-of-print poster from Warhol’s personal collection.
Proceeds directly benefit the non-profit charitable organization he founded with the mission to advance the visual arts. Since its inception in 1987, The Andy Warhol Foundation has been a stalwart advocate for freedom of expression, supporting work that is experimental and challenging in nature and from communities that have been historically marginalized.
