This book has 194 pages. Lots of informative reading, many black & white photographs, a few drawings and maps.

This book has an illustrated cover, inside the front and back cover are an illustrated map of Italy, and Greece .

The first pages have photographs, illustrated, title page, copyright page with publishers note, table of contents, including 26 chapters, and an index. It also has two pages of chronology, and notes on the illustrations. The book is divided into three parts, including “The Ancient East“, “Greece“, and “Rome“.

Although this book is in good to very good condition, it does have some ink pan markings on it, including the signature of a previous owner, many pages that have places and phrases and names underlined with fountain pan, and a few pages have notes written in the margins, and also next to small maps. Though not a perfect copy of this book, some collectors find it interesting what previous owner had chosen to underline, Circle, or add additional notes about for their particular research or interest.

The final pages of the book includes a detailed three page index of proper names, and a full page illustrated map titled “Gaul and Germany”.

I have not done any restoration or cleaning.

I leave that up to the collector or their restoration person.

Condition:

This book is in good to good-plus condition, especially for being 101 years old.

This book has very light fading on the spine.

The spine is in good condition with lettering. The book boards are good with very minor corner dings.

The book edges have light foxing. No major tears, no folded page corners, there are many fountain pen ink markings and a few pencil markings.

There are no highlighter markings.

A few pages have small stains..

Interior pages have light foxing, very consistent aging throughout the book.. No mold or mildew, no musty smell.

This is from a non-smoking home.
