This is a vintage handled cake comb made of mixed metals. It is a cake breaker tool used for decorating cakes and is a great addition to any collector's kitchen, home items or bakery. The prongs do have some rusting, nothing that a little oil can take care of. Inside of the handle it is marked sterling. After the word sterling it reads it, or appears to have H&D or H&M very difficult to read even with magnifying glass. The handle is solid none magnetic silver or could be silver plated. The only part that is non magnetic is the prongs, of course the rust tells me that it is steel. It has its wear from over the years
Please look at photos of the closeups. Anyone that can help me identify this piece, it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying educate myself and be accurate in my descriptions.
