To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives. This Canadian General Service Medal with Fenian clasps belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside vintage military items over the years and this medal was on display with some other related Canadian items.
This Queen Victoria era Canadian General Service Medal Bar is clean/original and complete with it's Fenian Raid clasps as found (see photos). The rim is engraved Pte. J. Smith, 58th BN. (see photos). It has a replacement ribbon but is otherwise 100% period original (see photos). The medal is full sized and the General Service medal measures approximately 1.5 inches in diameter (see photos). I haven't done any research on the recipient and don't have the capacity to do any.
This Canadian General Service medal is complete/solid overall and is apparently rare having both Fenian Raid bars. It was period engraved/assembled and made it's way to Michigan at some time. Guaranteed to be an original period piece as described.
