Vintage Tapestry : Port Clyde, Maine, USA Port Clyde Lighthouse October 1995

This vintage cross stitch needlepoint tapestry is in perfect condition. 

It is set in antique style walnut frame. The frame has a chip to the

 bottom (see pic). It is held behind glass and under a double acid-free mount.

 It is titled in biro on the back top left, 'Port Clyde Maine USA Oct. 1995.' 

The production date is also woven into the front, bottom left. 

This tapestry has been very cleverly completed by an expert. The two Seagulls 

seem to stand proud of the background, and the light in the lighthouse beams

 because it has been finished with silver thread. 

The subject is the Port Clyde lighthouse in the southernmost settlement on 

the St. George Peninsula in central Maine. The photograph of the lighthouse shows

 how close the tapestry is to the original. A lovely little tapestry to grace any room.
