A history of Nantucket with emphasis on the great variety of people who have called Nantucket home.  Numerous groups are touched on in the text, in addition to those shown in the Contents (third picture)(notice the Finnish name of the author).  Many personal histories are briefly covered in what amounts to transcriptions of oral histories.  Not an "ordinary" history book.

The interior is still bright and unmarked.  But the covers show wear around the edges and especially the corners (see the first two pictures.)  There is a degree of edge curl outwards for the covers and adjacent pages, both front and back.  Especially the upper back corner, which, along with the last three page sheets, has been bent enough to leave a partial crease.  So a nice interior, but the covers show the book has been moved around from time to time.
