This vintage African wood carved Luba Kifwebe mask is a unique piece of Songye tribal art. The brown-colored mask is an original piece made from wood, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship and cultural significance of the Songye tribe. Measuring 6 3/4 inches in heightened 6 1/2" wide, this mask is a beautiful representation of traditional African ceremonial art and would make a stunning addition to any collection of ethnographic antiques. These masks were worn in various ceremonial and celebratory events, including initiations, funerals of Chiefs, and new moon rites.  I am in no way an expert on this item.  I try to do the best research I can on all items I sell.  Please message me if you have more information or find a flaw in my research.
