Adaptic Non-adhering Dressing is a primary dressing made of knitted cellulose acetate fabric and impregnated with a specially formulated petrolatum emulsion. It is designed to help protect the wound while preventing the dressing from adhering to the wound and to minimize pain and trauma upon removal. It can be cut to wound size without unraveling or shredding.

How often do you change the dressing?
The frequency of dressing changes will depend on the amount of exudate. The manufacturer recommends leaving the dressing in place for up to seven days or changing twice a week with higher-exuding wounds.
Is ADAPTIC good for open wounds?
Yes. It is a primary wound contact layer that is gentle to open and semi-closed wounds.
Is this considered Vaseline gauze?
Vaseline is a brand name. But the structure is the same as Vaseline gauze since it is also made with petrolatum
Is acetate fabric the same as nylon?
The cellulose acetate fabric is a manufactured fiber like nylon; however, acetate is from regenerated cellulose fibers that give it a silky look and feel.
