Description:

This is a Japanese Bizen-yaki(ware) sake flask (a.k.a. "Tokkuri" in Japanese) made to enjoy Japanese Sake in either warmed or chilled (photo #1 & 5). 

And, if you want, you can use it as a wonderful bud vase (a.k.a. Ichirin-zashi in Japanese) (photo #1 & 6).
In either way, you can feel and enjoy real "wabi / sabi" taste of Japanese culture from this.

It was made by a very reputable pottery artist, Koichiro ISEZAKI (伊勢崎晃一郎 in Japanese). He was born in 1974 as a son of Jun ISEZAKI (recognized as "Living National Treasure" in 2004). 
Interestingly, Koichiro spent two years (1998 ~ 1999) in the US as a disciple of a famous pottery artist Jeff Shapiro and came back to Bizen in 2000 and started to work as a Bizen-Yaki artist under his father. Since then, he won many honorable prizes at various exhibitions in Japan and now recognized as one of the most reputable artists in Bizen. 

Jeff Shapiro (1949 ~) stayed in Japan to learned Bizen-yaki pottery from his father Jun for nine years during 1973 ~ 1981. Yes, Koichiro learned pottery from his father and one of his father's disciple who lives in the US.  

The "Tokkuri" is amazing. And in excellent condition. It has all the attractive features of Bizen-yaki, e.g., its shape and colors. You can find some points which look like crack or chip (photo #10 & 11). They are NOT flaws. They developed in the kiln during firing process, e.g. by explosion of small stones contained in cray. They are part of the attractiveness of Bizen-yaki. 

Koichiro engraved his mark on the bottom of the Tokkuri (Photo #12 ~ 14). He signed and sealed on the original wood box as well (photo # 15).
