Herend "Chinese Bouquet " covered sugar bowl, with bird finial, Apponyi Orange 377, accents of 24k gold. excellent condition. The underside of the piece bears the blue overglaze Herend crown mark and " HUNGARY , as well as a pattern number "377/AOG". In excellent condition, with no chips, repairs, cracks, or gold losses.
Dimensions: 3.5 inches in diameter of the bowl, 5 inches in plate diameter, 4 inches high to the finial
"The Apponyi pattern betokens a calm, prosperous, unobtrusive lifestyle. This simpler version of Fleurs des Indes décor was first made for Count Albert Appony at the turn of the century. The exoticism of the Indies remains, overlaid with bourgeois poise. Apponyi would be most apposite, perhaps, for a gourmet devoted to the seemingly familiar, yet entirely special things in life."
