Attach the mute between the D and A strings behind violin bridge. 

To use, gently slide mute towards bridge until mute lip sits over bridge. 

When no longer needed, slide back off bridge towards tail.

Mute will not slide around or rattle and vibrate.

Sliding mute on and off will not grind against strings and cause them to wear down.
