The CD player is a vintage high end unit from Yamaha. The CD player includes a working remote control. There are some serious issues with this machine as it stands, however, the bones of the machine are good and the CD player does work.
The most severe issue is that the rubber components have degraded to a semi-liquid gel state. This means that it smears upon touching and sticks to EVERYTHING!
There were two belts in the unit that were replaced with compatible belts. I attempted to clean the residue of the previous belts, but I definitely did not get it all. With the belts replaced i was able to get the unit to play CD's without issue.
There are some rubber wheels that guide the CD tray that have also melted with age. I initially thought there was only two on the top, but believe there are two more on the bottom that I could not see or access. Those wheels are still in the machine and gumming up the tray rails. As a result the tray needs you to help guide it closed with your hands. this is an incredibly finicky procedure as the tray does not want to close straight. It tends to get hung up right as it's almost closed. When you do get it closed than it will play the CD normally, but this is obviously an issue that needs repair.
The belts I used to replace it are working, but I can already see leftover residue on them so they will likely need replacing with rubber rail wheels.
The unit is missing the two wooden end caps.
The remote control is fully functional, but is missing the battery cover.
The unit is being sold as able to play CD's, but it will need maintenance and repair before it is fully functional.
Other than that , the issues are some cosmetic scratches on the housing. The worst of them are pictured.
Note: The degraded belts and wheels in this unit are EXTREMELY messy to work with. Please take care to protect clothes and surroundings as the stuff tends to find its way everywhere.
