This is an Original Art model drawing of Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, done in the early 1950's for the production of the classic animated motion picture theatrical movie by Walt Disney Productions. It is a great, wonderfully dynamic and expressive drawing of Hook and his first mate, done in pencil. The full sheet measures approximately 12 1/2" by 10 1/2", and is standard 3-peghole animation paper (1 round, 2 rectangular). It is in very good overall condition, particularly considering the age of the piece (around 75 years old!), but does have some wear that should be noted. There is what looks like some staining towards the right side edge of the paper, with some heavy crinkling/creasing to the paper towards the upper right side edge. There is also bumping and general wear to the corners of the piece. This is an outstanding rare vintage piece of Disneyana magic, and a magnificent example to own from the Golden Age of Disney featuring one of their most famous and most recognizable characters (who is not only the main villain of the feature, but really one of the most iconic villains in the history of Disney). It would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be a key addition to any collection.
