A beautifully aged, early 1900s French confit pot with rich terracotta tones and classic proportions — full of rustic soul and provincial charm.
Handmade over a century ago, this sturdy pot was traditionally used for preserving meats like duck and goose in fat (confit de canard / confit d’oie), stored in cool larders or stone cellars. It features the familiar wide mouth, side handle, and rounded belly, with a deep, warm terracotta colour that glows with earthy elegance.
Its hand-thrown origins are visible in its surface texture — gentle undulations, glaze skips, and subtle irregularities that speak of its humble, utilitarian past. A fantastic piece for lovers of antique kitchenware and authentic French farmhouse style.
Condition: Over 100 years old with the expected character of antique, handmade pottery. The surface shows age-related marks, minor grazes, and charming unevenness from the firing process. There is a fine hairline glaze crack (barely visible) at the base, expected for pottery of this age; however, the pot remains watertight and stable. No other structural damage or post-firing chips. A deeply charming, authentic piece with rich rustic soul.
