Antique~Sepia Photograph~McKinney, Texas~Dowell Hardware and Furniture Store~By Greenwood~1920's~Three story building which is still standing in McKinney Texas on the square. It is no longer a hardware store. Dowell Hardware store began is 1877.  This three-story building built in 1888, once sold everything from hardware to animal feed to clothing. Later it sold fine china, crystal, had a gift ware section, and finer housewares. This original photo measures approx. 8.5" x 6.75" and is mounted on heavy cardboard with a faux wood grain border which measures approx. 11.75"x 9.75". There is writing on the backside in pencil. There is also a piece of tape from the J.P Dowell "The Quality House" McKinney, Texas. Ideal for collector, historian, museum, framed, displayed, etc. This was given to me by the granddaughter whose grandfather started the stored.
