La illy art collection creata da Daniel Buren per Monumenta 2012 ritrova l'elemento visivo scelto nel 1965 dall'artista, diventato poi ricorrente nelle sue opere: strisce bianche e colorate in alternanza, larghe 8,7cm, ispirate alla stampa di un tessuto molto impiegato in quell'epoca. Un outil visuel che l'artista utilizza per ridefinire gli spazi e costringere l'occhio a creare un nuovo rapporto con il luogo e l'oggetto.
