This is an original 1907-'08 two-volume hardcover printing of "A Dictionary of Christ and the Gospels," edited by James Hastings, published by Charles Scribner's Sons, and serving as a useful encyclopedia-like reference for a wide variety of alphabetically-arranged Christian topics. These are large, heavy volumes, weighing a combined 12 lbs. 9.5 ounces and being a combined 4.75" thick when stacked side-by-side.

Overall, the books being offered are in fair vintage condition. As you'll see in my first eight photos, the covers have noticeable wear, most noticeably at the top & bottom of the spines and in the corners, along with some surface scuffing and stickers on both spines. Inside, the pages are crisp and mostly clean, although the top edges of all pages in Volume 1 have light brown water stains (visible in my photos) and light rippling around those stains. Volume 1 also has two detached sheets (which are still present and included, and are shown in my next-to-last photo) at the back cover. Finally, the binding remains strong, with the only weaker spot being the light split where the aforementioned two detached pages are found.

Please review my photos and feel free to message me if you have any questions or if you would like to see more photos; the two books shown in the photos are the exact two books you will receive.
