Please see photos and note the single tear along one of the spines.  The paper seems to be intact and could be repaired if the buyer were so inclined to do so.  It is in splendid condition apart from this defect. For decorative purposes, this lovely piece could easily be displayed in such a way as to conceal the tear.  32" diameter.  We have no idea how old this umbrella is, and it is difficult to say since Japanese craftsmen have been making these the same way for a very long time.  Could be pre-war, but probably more recent.  Here's the AI description:
