This is Rise of Apocalypse issue #1, published by Marvel Comics in October 1996. This four-issue limited series delves into the origin of one of the X-Men's most formidable adversaries, Apocalypse. In this inaugural issue, titled "Hammer & Chisel," readers are introduced to En Sabah Nur, a child abandoned in ancient Egypt due to his unique appearance. Rescued by Baal of the Sandstormers, En Sabah Nur is taught the harsh philosophy of survival of the fittest. As he grows, his latent mutant powers begin to manifest, setting the stage for his transformation into Apocalypse.
