Indian Carving featuring Hindu Deities

It is difficult to age pieces like this because quite often they are hung outside and prematurely aged by the weather. This particular item appears to be naturally aged and was probably hung inside a wooden home or perhaps in a temple outbuilding. There is a carved image of the seated Vishnu with a goddess on either side and then 4 guardians. It is a remarkable piece of sculpture carved, as it is, from one piece of Indian teak wood. Will make a lovely and interesting wall hanging.
