GIFT IDEA:  Ideal for personalizing your Christmas tree. Just cast and paint these as many times as you require, then hang with ribbon on the tree. There is one decoration per mould. These are flat casts and easy to paint, if desired. You can leave them unpainted and just polish them or paint them partially, according to personal taste and creativity. Dimensions of the bear with nameplate is 65mm height, 53mm in width when cast. Only compatible with Model Metal.

You can cast up to 500 times using our moulds before needing to replace the mould.

CASTING GUIDE:

     
  • Apply release powder to both mould halves evenly.
    •       
  • Gently clap the moulds together to remove excess powder.
    •       
  • Add the two support boards to the sides of the moulds and hold firmly together with the metal clamps.
    •       
  • Melt metal in the casting ladle. Use a worn match to check that the metal is at the correct temperature. If the match smokes lightly when placed in the metal it means that it is ready to pour.
    •       
  • Pour carefully into the mould holes and tap lightly to settle metal.
    •       
  • When cool (5 minutes), open the mould and bend the mould away from the figure to remove it.
    •       
  • Clip away any excess metal off the figure and base, file to keep base flat.
    •       
  • Polish with a wire brush. (wire snips, file and brush not included)
    •       
  • Your figure is ready to paint. We advise undercoating it first and varnishing it when finished painting to protect it.

CASTING WARNING: Metal casting is NOT a toy. Prince August Model Metal & Standard Metal contain lead and are recommended for children over 14 years. Prince August's '5 Star' and '6 Star' metals are lead free and contain other metals like Tin and Bismuth. 

Adult supervision is needed. Protect worktops from hot metal by covering then with a newspaper or a sheet of hard board. Any spilled metal can be removed after it cooled down. Do not cool down the metal or mould with water. Explosion Risk!. Moulds and metal taken from cold storage should be allowed to warm up before use by leaving them in a warm room.
