Vintage 1970s Monteleone Pirana? Electric Battery Powered Plastic Speedboat VGC Tested & Working.

This Monteleone 44cm long Plastic Model Speedboat is I think a Pirana, even though it doesn’t have name decals, just plain white ones, plus the number 8. It’s in really nice condition, looking to be virtually unused with no scuffing on the underside, just smooth, glossy plastic. The upper surface is the same, showing little wear, and no damage.

The windscreen and steering wheel are both present, the battery cover clips nicely into place, the battery compartment and terminals are all clean, and the motor is in working order. It is a little noisy and vibratory, I don’t know if they all are, or whether it’s a machismo thing, but it spins up rapidly. No speed controls apart from the on/off switch, so I imagine you can either send it straight across the pond, or set the rudder so it turns in circles.
