A kit containing one 6800uF Panasonic capacitor, one 2A fuse and instructions for replacing them in the Arcam Solo Movie 5.1 all-in-one system.
With age and only light use, these systems develop a fault where they don't start up properly due to the capacitor failing and blowing a soldered-in fuse. The display gets stuck on the screen shown in the first photo. The other 2 photos show a failed capacitor with bulged top and the blown fuse.
The solution is to replace the capacitor and fuse with new ones.
This restores correct operation.
This DIY repair kit allows you to carry-out the replacement yourself at low cost.
Although the repair job is quite simple, you will need to be competent in soldering and de-soldering components on printed circuit boards to avoid damaging your Solo. There is also a lot of dis-assembly of the unit required and you should not attempt this unless you are confident to do this.
We accept no responsibility for any damage caused to your equipment due to poor workmanship when fitting this kit.
